«Multon» is a Russian company that produces juices, nectars, fruit drinks, purees and juice drinks. It was founded in St. Petersburg on April 20, 1995. On April 20, 2005, it was acquired by the Coca-Cola Corporation for $ 501 million.[1][2] Among the possible owners of the company were Dmitry Korzhev, Yuri Pilipenko, Dmitry Troitsky.[3]
The company’s first juice brand was Nico. In 1998, a plant was opened in Shchyolkovo, Moscow Region, producing juices under the Dobry brand. In 2002, the production of Rich brand nectars was launched, and in 2003, the production of Yasli-Sad brand juices and nectars for young children began.
At the time of the takeover, Multon occupied about 25% of the juice market in Russia (of which 20% was the Dobry trademark)[4], only slightly inferior to its main competitor, Wimm-Bill-Dann, whose share was 27.4%; turnover in 2004 was $ 336 million[5][6][7].
Coca-Cola retained a group of legal entities under the Multon name, and in 2014 united all Russian juice assets under their auspices, including the main Moya Semya trademark of the former Nidan factories (acquired in 2010)[8]. In the summer of 2022, in the wake of the boycott of Russia and Belarus, Coca-Cola renamed its entire Russian division Multon Partners and hid the phrase Coca-Cola from the names of some products[9].
