Tirzepatide is the world’s first and currently the only glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP)/glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist. Developed by Eli Lilly, it was approved for marketing in China on May 21st, 2024, and officially launched on January 2nd, 2025.
